Our mission is to support research efforts to achieve the primary prevention
of breast and ovarian cancers. The focus of our efforts is to obtain
federal funding for a “Women’s Health Initiative” to facilitate
clinical trials for the primary immune prevention
of breast and ovarian cancer in otherwise healthy, cancer-free women.
Day 20 -
My Anti-Cancer
Morning Smoothie
My Recipe for a Morning Cancer Fighting Smoothie:

1 medium avocado
- Avocados offer an abundance of fiber, potassium (more than a banana!), and vitamins B6 and C. They’re also rich in folate, which can boost your mood!
-
2 cups Plant Milk - I use coconut milk
People often have this misconception that coconut is a high fat content fruit. Even though it is true, people do fail to realize that the medium chain fatty acids that are present in coconut are actually good for your health. It has positive impacts in boosting the overall metabolism of the body, when consumed in moderation. It is high in magnesium, potassium and phosphorus, all of which have amazing benefits on your health.
-
1 inch of fresh organic ginger
The top health benefits of ginger may include its ability to help relieve nausea and pain, improve respiratory conditions, and improve blood pressure. Ginger also helps boost bone health, strengthen the immune system, and increase appetite. This spicy root is also good for mitigating obesity and relieving the pain related to menstrual disorders.
-
1 inch fresh organic turmeric
Researchers have found that phytochemicals from natural foods, such as the curcumin found in turmeric, may be a safe and effective way to help reduce inflammation and prevent and treat disease. While acute inflammatory responses are beneficial for the body in that they help heal injury, irritation, or infection, we know that chronic inflammation can contribute to disease onset. There is promising research to support curcumin’s use for the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects on cancer, obesity, to reduce arthritis pain and swelling, and to aid in complications such as diabetic retinopathy, nephropathy, and cardiomyopathy.”
-
2 cups spinach or spinach and kale (fresh or frozen)
Spinach is a nutrient dense food. Three cups of raw spinach provides just 20 calories, no fat, 2 grams of protein, and 3 grams of carbohydrate with 2 grams as fiber (so 1 gram of net carbs). Though it has so few calories, spinach is packed with nutrients. A three cup portion provides over 300% of the daily need for bone-supporting vitamin K. Spinach also provides over 160% of the daily goal for vitamin A, and about 40% for vitamin C, which both support immune function and promote healthy skin.
-
2 cups frozen organic berries
When it comes to good news and health benefits, berries just about have it all. Many berries come with antioxidants known as anthocyanins, which help keep the brain sharp as you get older, while others have ellagic acid, a property known for combating cancer. All berries have an excellent amount of fiber in them, which is helpful for regulating the digestive system. Of course, if you still need more reasons to give berries a chance, consider these five crucial health benefits of common berries you'll find at any grocery store. Not only are berries good for your heart and mind, but they're good for your skin and bones and everything else in between.
